After consulting on some of the world’s most luxurious hotels, Tommy is back where it all began, home sweet Florida, and bringing vision to the heart of St. Pete. Now serving as the General Manager of the highly anticipated St. Pete Athletic, which hosted a pre-launch on the Pier this past winter and is slated to open September 2025, Tommy is blending his world-class hospitality roots with a deep love for community. You’ll find him out and about connecting with locals to help shape a space that’s as much about belonging as it is about luxury.. and of course, some paddle. As hire number one, Tommy is building a team of passionate, curious, and kind individuals who want to set a new standard for service in Tampa Bay. His story is one of elevating spaces and experiences, and he’s bringing that same energy to St. Pete.
Chasing Excellence
I actually grew up in Venice, Florida and moved away right after high school, graduating from Florida State and moving to Atlanta to start my career at the St. Regis. I loved the St. Regis opportunity but Florida is home and I wanted to get back to my family. My brother had moved to St. Pete and I followed. From there I had the opportunity to work with some St. Pete legends at Farmtable Kitchen before the dream job opportunity came about, traveling the world consulting with some of the most luxurious hotels you can think of.
The pandemic hit and that job ended but my entrepreneur side kicked in and I had two different businesses that I sold before I got back into what I really enjoy doing, hospitality. Things really came full circle when I had the opportunity to open up the St. Regis Longboat Key back home in Sarasota. Sarasota had never seen anything like the St. Regis and it was an incredible experience to open such a complex and detailed hotel.
I am now more excited than ever to bring a luxury club destination to St. Pete like this city has never seen! I really missed the community feel that St. Pete offers, especially within the hospitality world and could not pass up on the opportunity to work with some of the best minds in the city. I'm excited to make St. Pete Athletic a place everyone wants to be, whether that is working, playing or just socializing.
